Florida state senator receives humanitarian award

Florida state senator Dennis Jones, DC, received the 2004 Humanitarian Award, given by Biofreeze/Performance Health Inc. The award was presented at the national convention of the Florida Chiropractic Association in Orlando, Fla.

Jones was selected because of his achievements and service to the profession. He was instrumental in getting legislation passed for the establishment of a chiropractic college within Florida State University.

Jones, elected to the Florida Senate in 2002, currently serves as Majority Leader. His political involvement in Florida goes back to 1978 when he was first elected to the Florida Legislature. During his legislative career, he has directed his work efforts on the areas of healthcare, education, criminal justice and the environment.

Perry Isenberg, vice president of marketing for Performance Health, presented the award to Jones, along with a $1,000 check to the Florida Chiropractic Foundation for Education and Research.
