3 students win ‘Wellness Works’ scholarships
Three students have been awarded $1,000 scholarships under the Wellness Works Scholarship Program, developed by OUM Chiropractor Program.
Scholarship winners were Christine Cantwell (junior, Life Chiropractic College West), Tina Carrari (junior, Life Chiropractic College West) and Allan Lindsley (senior, Parker College of Chiropractic).
The October 2004 scholarship funds were raised through the financial support of Biofreeze, Chiropractic Economics and King Bio Homeopathics. Winners of the scholarhips had to be third- or fourth-year students in good standing. They were selected based on their essays promoting the benefits of health maintenance through regular chiropractic care.
Cantwell is a native of New Zealand. She began her professional career in the environmental field as an educator and consultant. In June 2005, she will receive her chiropractic degree and will pursue a private practice specializing in lifetime care for families and newborns in New Zealand.
Carrari was a massage therapist originally from Los Alamos, Calif. After graduation in June 2005, she plans to attend the Carrick Institute of Neurology Diplomate program, to link specialize in chiropractic care for sufferers of learning disabilities and emotional disturbances.
Lindsley, a native of rural Wisconsin, spent the first seven years of his professional career as a mechanical engineer. After graduation in December 2004, he plans to open a practice emphasizing a combination of functional nutrition and chiropractic to contribute to the overall wellness of the human body.
