Northwestern honors ‘favorite son’ at fundraising event
Northwestern Health Sciences University raised more than $30,000 during its second 'Stars Among Us' gala on Oct. 16. The school honored Irvin (jack) Holtz, DC, at the same event as its “favorite son.”
Holtz was honored for his passion and commitment to the university. A 1961 graduate of Northwestern College of Chiropractic, Holtz has been a patron of Northwestern for more than 45 years. He also served as a member of the university's board of trustees for 30 years.
"Dr. John B. Wolfe was considered the father of Northwestern and Jack Holtz would have to be considered Northwestern's favorite son," said Alfred Traina, DC, president of the university. "Our university has been well served by Dr. Holtz's unselfish commitment of time and resources to our institution. He is a true patron of Northwestern."
Holtz was given the Brilliant Star Award, making him its second recipient. Last year John F. Allenburg, DC, president emeritus of Northwestern, received the award.
