Palmer faculty member named DC of the Year

J. Richard Burns, DC, has been named “Chiropractor of the Year” by the Illinois Prairie State Chiropractic Association. Burns is a professor in the Technique Department of Palmer College of Chiropractic and has a private chiropractic practice in East Moline, Ill.

This is the second time Dr. Burns has received this award from the Illinois Prairie State Chiropractic Association (IPSCA). He has received numerous other honors and awards, most notably Faculty of the Year at Palmer College of Chiropractic and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the IPSCA. He currently serves on the board of directors of the IPSCA and the International Chiropractors Association.

Burns is a 1973 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic and joined the faculty of the college that same year. In addition to being a professor of technique, he served as chairman of the Technique Department from 1977 to 1999. His teaching specialties include spinal analysis and adjusting, and pediatric analysis and adjusting.
