Author shares insights with students

Chiropractors are uniquely positioned to lead their communities to healthy lifestyles. Dr. Ben Lerner, author of the New York Times Best Seller ody By God: The Owner’s Manual For Maximized Living, recently shared that message with a large gathering of students at Parker College of Chiropractics.

“Chiropractors are actually lifestyle coaches,” he explained. “You can help transform lives. You can help your community discover a positive lifestyle.”

Lerner, 1996 and 2000 U.S.Olympic Wrestling Team coach, believes chiropractors can become known as wellness resources in their communities. “Your community will look to you for guidance if you are a professional – awesome technique, good training and well educated,” he said.

Lerner explained the importance of leading their patients to a lifestyle of complete balance. Healthy living incorporates several principles that chiropractors have been emphasizing for years. Lerner also reminded students to help their future patients to heal from within by encompassing all that chiropractic has to offer. “Put all the pieces together –technique, science, nutrition, fitness.” Lerner said. He encouraged the students to be well rounded n their practices and to not compromise the value of chiropractic.

Coupling chiropractic professionalism with trust, compassion and a “coaching” mentality enables chiropractors to succeed. “You can succeed. If you have a heart of compassion and truly believe you are responsible for the health and well being of your community, you will have a great practice. You will attract success,” Lerner said.
