AASP to launch public awareness initiative

The American Academy of Spine Physicians, composed of chiropractors and neurosurgeons, is preparing to launch a National Spine Care Public Awareness Initiative, resulting from a Web-based survey of members and potential members.

The survey identified a need for better communication about spine care and the unique alliance between chiropractors and neurosurgeons and the need to educate the public as well as physicians about the training of chiropractors.

The AASP developed a number of public awareness resources and tools for AASP members. These resources will be provided to the membership at no cost.

Included in the resources are a certificate; press release; brochures describing “The Spine Physician,” “Practice Resources” and “Cooperative Spine Care;” a customer interactive AASP Web site; business card; poster; office manager’s implementation guide; script pad; Power Point presentation; neurosurgeon introductory letter; and an upgraded directory listing.
