Dr. Oliver Smith, Jr. (left) and Dr. Thomas Georges are two of the sponsors of No. 34, which will attempt to race in the Brickyard 400 Aug. 7. Watch for Issue 11 of Chiropractic Economics for a profile on these doctors.

With a bit of luck and the skill of NASCAR driver Geoffrey Bodine, on Aug. 8 you may be able to spot chiropractic racing across the Speedway at the Brickyard 400. The green and blue car No. 34, a 2004 Dodge Intrepid, has “Chiropractic: Racing for Health” emblazoned on its rear.

Two of the car’s sponsors are Dr. Thomas Georges and Dr. Oliver Smith, Jr., both of El Paso, Texas. Instead of putting the names of their clinics as sponsors, they chose to promote chiropractic.

The full story of how they decided to sponsor the car as well as their own off-practice racing endeavors will be featured in Issue 11 of Chiropractic Economics, which will be available in August.
