National University adds two master's degrees

DEC. 9, 2004 — Starting in January 2005, National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) will offer two new degrees: the Master of Science in Diagnostic Imaging and the Master of Science in Advanced Clinical Practice. NUHS received approval for both degrees from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Both programs will be completed in conjunction with existing three-year full-time residency programs in each discipline. The Master of Science in Advanced Clinical Practice is unique to National. The fully accredited degree will grant the doctor admission to advanced standing at most state-supported institutions. "The program enhances the recipient's abilities in the realm of research and helps expand the critical thinking pool within our profession. This is a great thing for chiropractic," says Dr. Jeffrey Bergin, dean of clinics at NUHS. Regarding the Master of Science in Diagnostic Imaging, Dr. Jeffrey Rich, director of NUHS' Department of Diagnostic Imaging, says, "This groundbreaking program will significantly expand the research and teaching experience of our imaging residents and will encourage ongoing chiropractic imaging research from our department. The end product will be a doctor with a unique blend of scholarship and clinical imaging skills."
