Olympians benefit from donated equipment

A chiropractic equipment supplier is helping American Olympians keep in top shape. Through a partnership with the U.S. Olympic Committee, the Chattanooga Group, a division of Encore Medical, has donated several thousands of dollars worth of rehabilitative and sports medicine equipment to Team USA for use in Athens.

According to Ed Dunlay of the Chattanooga Group, the equipment is mainly combination electrotherapy/ultrasound systems, hot and cold therapy and other rehab products. “We sent 10 hydro collator systems and about 15 combination electrotherapy/ultrasound systems to the games,” he said.

Dunlay said the aim of the equipment donation is to help U.S. athletes keep in the best physical condition and win the Gold. The U.S. Olympic team training staff is coordinating the use of the equipment, which is available to all medical and sports medicine professionals who are officially associated with the U.S. Olympic medical team.

The Chattanooga Group has been a contributor to the Olympic and Paralympic games for more than 10 years.
