NY Council launches grassroots PR effort
The New York Chiropractic Council
is urging its members and all chiropractors to do their part
in creating public awareness of the positive effects of chiropractic.
According to the council’s
president Stephen Simonetti, DC, of Whitestone, N.Y., the
organization is encouraging doctors to download prewritten
press releases they can customize and send to their local
media.
One press release builds on
the Feb. 25 CBS news story concerning research showing the
link between spinal adjustment and increased fertility in
some women. The research was conducted by Madeline Behrendt,
DC. The press release summarizes the news story and then gives
the local chiropractor the opportunity to cite similar positive
experiences.
The second press release addresses
the proposed recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics
and the American Academy of Family Physicians to stop treating
most ear infections in children with antibiotics. It discusses
research that shows the effectiveness of chiropractic in treating
earache. This press release can also be customized with a
local chiropractor’s remarks.
The New York Chiropractic Council
has provided the press releases, along with a link to Congress.org,
a site where individuals can plug in their zip code and retrieve
local media contact names, on its Web site, www.nycouncil.com.
Simonetti invites all chiropractors to visit the site.
