WCA declines to participate
on WFC identity committee
The World Chiropractic Alliance (WCA) has declined an invitation to participate on a task force convened by the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) that will attempt to define the purpose and focus of chiropractic. (See WFC task force to study chiropractic identity in the news section at www.ChiroEco.com.)
The chiropractic identity is completely meshed with the chiropractic purpose and its role in the health and wellness arena. It is impossible to establish an identify for chiropractic without addressing its purpose. said Dr. Terry Rondberg, president of the WCA, in a statement challenging the authority of the WFC to define chiropractic identity.
Rondberg said the WFC invited WCA to participate on the task force. The invitation, he said, was accompanied by a request for $5,000 to fund the study. In declining the invitation, Rondberg sent a three-page letter to the WFC, which listed the philosophical differences of the two organizations and challenged the WFCs authority to speak for the chiropractic profession.
