Marathon runners to get chiro care
OCT. 1, 2003 Chiropractors will be on hand to take away the aching pains of runners in the 28th Annual Marine Corps marathon in Washington, D.C., Oct. 24-26. The marathon is reportedly the sixth largest in the nation and the tenth largest in the world.
Guardian Care Alliance of Virginia (GCAVA), a Virginia-based chiropractic/CAM network, will serve as the exclusive chiropractic provider for the event.
The Marine Corps Marathon, held in Arlington, Virginia and Washington, D.C., annually fills its field of 20,000 runners from around the world through an online lottery nearly six months prior to the event.
"The Marine Corps Marathon assists the athletes before and after the race," said Marc Goldman, Marketing Coordinator for the Marine Corps Marathon. "With a high percentage of first time marathoners participating in our event, there is a considerable advantage to incorporating a variety of services such as chiropractic and those provided by GCAVA in the 28th Marine Corps Marathon this October. Partnership with the USMC Marathon, the sixth largest marathon in the country, offers GCAVA an exciting opportunity in the marketplace and assists our runners tremendously."
