Cleveland named ACA‘Humanitarian of the Year’
Dr. Carl S. Cleveland III, president of the Cleveland Chiropractic College multi-campus system, has been chosen as the American Chiropractic Association’s “Humanitarian of the Year.” The award is one of the ACA’s two highest honors and is presented annually to those who have demonstrated “exceptional service, achievement and/or leadership to the chiropractic profession for current or past accomplishments.”
“The ACA was honored to present Dr. Carl Cleveland III with the 2003 Humanitarian of the Year award at our recent House of Delegates meeting,” Dr. Michael Flynn, past chairman of the ACA Board of Governors, said. “His unwavering commitment to the principles of chiropractic and his inspirational leadership to build consensus within the profession was deserving of this recognition.”
Cleveland has been an active supporter for the National Chiropractic Legal Action Fund and narrated the “Simple Justice” video distributed to chiropractors as an NCLAF fund-raising tool.
Founded in 1922 by the Cleveland family, Cleveland Chiropractic College is recognized as a major chiropractic institution, holding both specialized and regional accreditation. The Cleveland postgraduate programs attract doctors from around the globe for educational seminars. Led by Dr. Carl S. Cleveland III as president, a fourth generation doctor of chiropractic and grandson of the college founders, Cleveland Chiropractic College is an independent, not-for-profit multi-campus institution of higher education with a mission focused on education, scholarship and service. The college maintains campuses in Kansas City and Los Angeles.
