Sherman Hires New Staff

Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic has announced the appointment of eight new faculty members.

Kenneth A. Boiter has joined Sherman College as interim assistant to the president for institutional advancement. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina. From 1993-2002, Boiter served as a registered financial consultant at IJL Wachovia Securities and previously worked in auditing and analysis at Business Valuations and Appraisals, Inc. Boiter will lead the college’s efforts in fund-raising, alumni and donor relations, grant acquisitions, endowment and foundation planning and capital campaigns.

Dr. Myron Brown, DC, has joined the college as executive vice president/provost. He will be working with the departments of continuing education and research and the Chiropractic Health Center. Brown holds bachelor of science and doctor of chiropractic degrees from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He has served Sherman College in various capacities – a member of faculty, administrator and formerly a member of the Board of Trustees – and practiced chiropractic for 25 years in Iowa.

Dr. Rochelle Davis, DC, has been hired as an instructor of clinical sciences and a member of the health center faculty. She is a 1992 graduate of Sherman College. She received an associate’s degree in medical sciences from Wesley College in Delaware in 1982 and attended Rutgers University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for her pre-chiropractic studies. She has been in private practice in Anderson, SC, for four years and has also practiced chiropractic in Spartanburg.

Stacy Flowers joined the college as director of student services. She holds a bachelor’s in health sciences with a major in education from the Medical University of South Carolina and will complete her master’s degree in health care administration this spring. Flowers served as clinical coordinator and instructor of radiologic technology at York Technical College since 1998 and brings a wealth of experience in higher education administration.

Dr. Marie Frees, DC, has been hired as a classroom assistant. She is a 1998 graduate of Sherman College and practices full-time in Hendersonville, NC. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from State University of New York.

Carolyn B. Maher has also been hired as a teaching assistant in microbiology and diagnosis labs. She is a graduate of Lycoming College in Pennsylvania and earned a medical technology degree from Williamsport School of Medical Technology. Prior to joining Sherman College, she was hematology supervisor with Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA, for 29 years and a laboratory generalist at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and St. Luke’s Hospital for two years.

Dr. Renee Prenitzer, DC, has been hired as a health center faculty doctor and classroom assistant. She is a 1998 graduate of Life University College of Chiropractic and holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Florida. She has practiced in Atlanta, and most recently in Miami. Prenitzer also served as an instructor of clinical assessment at Life University from 1999-2001.

Dr. James Rohan, MD, is a new assistant professor of clinical science. He is a 1988 graduate of Medical College of Pennsylvania and has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Brown University. He teaches Hard Tissue Pathology.
