Providers get a break with policy changes

Landmark Healthcare, one of the country's largest chiropractic managed care networks, is making policy changes that will ease administrative burdens in pre-certification and enable participating doctors of chiropractic to receive payment more easily for patient care decisions that are within evidenced-based guidelines. The proposed changes were announced during a meeting with American Chiropractic Association (ACA) officials in Arlington, VA.

Landmark Healthcare is a California based group with 5,200 doctors of chiropractic in a 16-state network. The company, which services 2 million covered people, is also considering changes to its administrative criteria to better align that criteria with its evidence-based guidelines — a step that would reduce the need for doctors to go through the appeals process to get paid for x-rays.

Doctors and their state associations can contact ACA at 800-986-4636 to learn more about this outreach program with managed care networks.
