SCU students donate to charity

The Associated Student Body of Southern California University of Health Sciences in Whittier donated $2,000 to a local charity – Help for Brain Injured Children – the result of its recent “Spring Into Health” event, featuring a 5K run/walk and community health fair. SCU is home to two alternative health care colleges – the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

“We’re extremely proud of our students,” said University President Dr. Reed Phillips. “They work very hard to not only raise funds at this annual project for a worthwhile organization, but continue the program to help introduce the benefits of alternative health care to residents of our community.”

This year’s donation doubled the amount presented to the charity from the previous two years of the event.
