Web site offers one-stop grant shopping

If you are interested in applying for a federal government grant, check the government’s new Web site, http://www.grants.gov/. The site is a one-stop shopping place for grants and makes it easier for organizations to learn about and apply for federal grants.

The Web site currently has information on more than 800 available grant programs involving all 26 federal grant-making agencies. These agencies together award more than $360 billion in grant funds.

Currently only five agencies (Commerce, Education, Energy, Justice and Health and Human Services) have application packages available on the site. More information about Grants.gov is available at http://www.grants.gov/.
