December 2003
Deadline extended to participate in
NBCE job analysis survey
If you received but have not yet returned the job analysis survey sent to you by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, you have until December 8 to complete it to assure that its data is included in survey results.
In October, the NBCE mailed its survey to randomly selected fulltime practitioners. The job analysis survey is used to elicit information that is compiled into a comprehensive study of chiropractic practice, including descriptions of the "typical" chiropractor and the "typical" patient. The NBCE has received approximately 1,000 survey responses at this time and hopes for an even higher response rate. NBCE will accept completed surveys after the Dec. 8 date.
The NBCE will use the results of the survey in developing its Job Analysis of Chiropractic 2005. The job analysis project, conducted every five years, not only supports NBCE exam development but also supports the chiropractic profession on such important projects as the chiropractic in the military and chiropractic benefits through the Veterans Administration. The study also assists colleges in evaluating and outlining their curricula to accurately reflect the profession.
