Life University Adds Three Trustees
Marietta, Ga. - Life University College of Chiropractic has announced the appointment of Dr. Thomas Klapp, Dr. Robert De Bonis, and Dr. Sharon Gorman to its Board of Trustees. The new appointments expand the board from 12 to 15 members.
The expansion of Lifes Board of Trustees ensures the university will continue to benefit from a diversity of experience and active participation within the profession. After an extensive search, we determined Sharon, Robert, and Thomas were the best candidates because of their proven leadership skills, extensive involvement in patient care, and their reputation as independent thinkers, said Dr. Chuck Ribley, chairman of Life Universitys Board of Trustees.
The Council on Chiropractic Education revoked its accreditation of Life University College of Chiropractic on June 10. LUCC must win its appeal of the accreditation revocation or come up with another solution, or future graduates of the largest chiropractic college in the nation will not be allowed to take licensing exams to become practicing chiropractors. The CCE has said it likely will make a decision on Lifes accreditation status sometime this fall; the colleges status remains intact during the appeal. The recent changes to the Board of Trustees follow the retirement in early July of Dr. Sid E. Williams, the founder and former president of Life University, and the subsequent appointment of Dr. Michael J. Schmidt as interim president.
