Triad Healthcare Awarded National Accreditation Status
Plainville, Conn. - TRIAD Healthcare, Inc., announced that it has been accredited for Health Network with Credentialing Standards, version 3.2, and Health Utilization Management Standards, version 3.0, by URAC, which is also known as American Accreditation HealthCare Commission. The standards are the most up-to-date required by URAC.
URAC accreditation standards are recognized nationally as providing benchmarks for quality in managed-care organizations.
TRIAD is an independent practice association, or IPA, network that develops national managed-care contracts, increasing market share for doctors of chiropractic and integrated health-care providers participating in managed care. TRIAD matches employee health-benefits programs with TRIAD network health-care providers.
“Accreditation by URAC assures our clients that TRIAD has the ability to provide high-quality chiropractic services,” Dr. Marino R. Passero, TRIAD chief executive officer, said.
Dr. Agostino A. Villani, TRIAD chief operating officer, said URAC accreditation for TRIAD is the result of a coordinated effort by leadership and staff to assure that TRIAD’s business structure and processes follow industry-accepted standards for operations. “TRIAD has committed its network to URAC standards,” Villani said.
URAC is a non-profit organization that has issued more than 2,000 accreditation certificates to over 500 managed-care organizations doing business in all 50 states and Canada. URAC-accredited companies provide healthcare to more than 150 million Americans.
Gary Carneal, URAC president and chief executive officer, said, “By applying for and receiving URAC accreditation, TRIAD Healthcare, Inc., has demonstrated a commitment to quality healthcare. Quality healthcare is crucial to our nation's welfare and it is important to have organizations that are willing to measure themselves against national standards.”
TRIAD is a subsidiary of NCMIC Group, Inc., which offers a variety of insurance and financial products and services to health-care professionals. Another subsidiary, NCMIC Insurance Company, insures more than 50% of all doctors of chiropractic in the United States for professional liability.
