Foot Levelers' 50th Anniversary Conferences
Raise More Than $25,000 for Colleges
Roanoke, Va. - Foot Levelers, Inc., presented more than $25,000 in checks to 19 colleges at the recent Association for Chiropractic Colleges" IX/RAC VII Conference in New Orleans, La. The funds were generated from the proceeds of Foot Levelers" 50th Anniversary Kickoff Conferences in the fall of 2001.
Kent S. Greenawalt, Foot Levelers" president and CEO says: "Foot Levelers usually gives all our seminar proceeds to a chiropractic cause - very often it"s the colleges. This year, we let conference attendees select the college to donate these proceeds."
Dr. Terry Yochum handed out the checks to each of the colleges on behalf of Foot Levelers. "Foot Levelers has established a long-standing reputation of donating to our profession"s colleges," he remarked. "I was proud to represent them."
In 2001, there were three 50th Anniversary Kickoff Conferences, in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Newark - with nearly 1,000 attendees. There are six 50th Anniversary Conferences being held in 2002, again, with half of the proceeds being donated to chiropractic institutions of higher learning. The other half of the proceeds will benefit the National Chiropractic Legal Action Fund, to support the lawsuits against the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Trigon Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Virginia.
In related news, the American Chiropractic Association recently honored Foot Levelers for 50 years of service to the chiropractic profession. ACA president Dr. Daryl D. Wills presented a plaque to Greenawalt, commenting that Foot Levelers has done much to advance chiropractic through their product technologies and their philanthropic contributions.
"The ACA takes a great deal of pride in recognizing Foot Levelers for their 50th Anniversary," Wills said. "We express our deepest appreciation to Dr. Monte and Kent for their untiring efforts in supporting the chiropractic profession and the ACA. We wish them 50 more fulfilling years." (Dr. Monte Greenawalt founded Foot Levelers and invented the first custom-made orthotic in 1952.)
The next Foot Levelers Anniversary Conference is scheduled to take place May 17-19 in Minneapolis, Minn. The three-day conference offers up to 18 continuing education credits and focuses on key elements of practice-building, including philosophy, technique, and motivation. An exhibit hall of products and services will also be featured, as well as special anniversary giveaways and festivities.
