Bound for Winter Olympics

Davenport, Iowa - Dr. Doug Sharpe, a 1997 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, will be one of 10 U.S. bobsled team members at the Salt Lake City, Utah, Olympics.

Having won the U.S. championship in 1998 and 1999, the Jefferson, Ind., native has devoted the past four years to full-time training. He earned silver status at the Olympic trials.

Dr. Dave Juehring, director of the Chiropractic Rehabilitation and Sports Injury department at the Palmer Main Clinic, will serve as the team leader for the men’s and women’s U.S. Olympic bobsled team. A veteran bobsled athlete and coach at the previous two winter Olympics, Juehring was responsible for team selection at the Olympic Bobsled Trials and is involved with various administrative and coaching tasks for the Salt Lake Games.
