ACA, Blue Cross/Blue Shield
Open Up Lines of Communication

Arlington, Va. - The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and the national Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association are launching a joint initiative to promote discussions between the 44 licensed Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BC/BS) plans and the chiropractic profession.

The ACA and BC/BS have each appointed internal liaisons to become contacts for the other party during the discussions.

The groups aim to improve communication and understanding between chiropractic associations, practicing doctors of chiropractic and the clinical leadership of independent BC/BS plans.

“It is essential that we ensure a threshold of responsible chiropractic benefits throughout the country that treats doctors of chiropractic and their patients fairly,” said Dr. Daryl D. Wills, president of the ACA.
