NEC Receives GMP Registration
The National Enzyme Company was awarded the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) registration by NSF International recently. The registration was through the NSF Dietary Supplements Certification Program.
The program provides contract manufacturers a means to become independently registered as conforming to GMP requirements. NSF conducted a plant audit at the NEC facility in Forsyth, Missouri to verify conformance to GMPs. NSF will conduct periodic audits to verify continued conformance. GMPs are regulatory requirements that provide guidelines for necessary processes, procedures and documentation to assure the product produced has the identify strength, composition, quality and purity it is represented to possess.
National Enzyme Company has anticipated the passage of dietary supplement GMPs for many years, said Jo Ann Peterson, director of quality assurance, NEC. In my nine years in the quality control department, we have been continually reviewing and improving our processes and procedures to ensure that we exceed the standards, which will be set forth by the FDA. Receiving GMP registration from NSF International serves to validate our efforts.
