Northwestern Merges With Acupuncture School

Bloomington, Minn. - Northwestern Health Sciences University’s merger with the Minnesota Institute for Acupuncture and Herbal Studies (MIAHS) has been finalized, with MIAHS becoming the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MCAOM). The two institutions, which had worked cooperatively since MIAHS moved onto Northwestern’s campus in 1999, were able to complete the merger when the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools re-accredited Northwestern for the maximum of 10 years, this time with the Master of Acupuncture and Master of Oriental Medicine degrees added to Northwestern’s affiliation status.
