Have a Heart: Help Chiropractic Research

Des Moines, Iowa-This Valentine’s Day, you can help raise funds for vital chiropractic research, while also building your patient base, by participating in the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research’s (FCER’s) Patient Appreciation Day program.

On Feb. 14 (or any other date you choose), you would contribute your services in exchange for patient contributions to FCER. Patients would make a contribution to FCER of either $15 or one-half of your usual treatment fee (workers’ compensation, personal injury, and insurance payments cannot be accepted as part of the Patient Appreciation Day program).

FCER is a not-for-profit foundation for research and education dedicated to chiropractic healthcare and the practicing chiropractor. FCER has more than 50 years of experience in funding solid scientific research projects.

The Patient Appreciation Day Program is a way for doctors to strengthen their relationships with current patients, attract new patients, create community awareness, and raise funds for critically needed chiropractic research.

FCER is offering a free kit to help you plan and promote your Patient Appreciation Day.

The kit includes:

• a sample FCER brochure that you can personalize (FCER will supply 100 free of charge);
• a sample news release;
• a camera-ready flyer that you can personalize;
• a sample letter for current and former patients;
• a sample letter for prospective patients;
• a logo and logo fact sheet;
• a sample thank-you letter;
• a pre-addressed envelope to use when sending the proceeds to FCER;
• a Valentine’s Day poster to hang in your office and in your community advertising your Patient Appreciation Day (each doctor receives five).

For information about the Patient Appreciation Day program, call FCER toll-free at 800-622-6309; e-mail: fcernow@aol.com. Portions of the kit may also be downloaded from FCER’s website at www.fcer.org, but the posters and free brochures must still be ordered over the phone.
