Foot Levelers Seminars To Help Legal Action Fund

Roanoke, Va. - Foot Levelers, Inc., is organizing and sponsoring a series of license-renewal seminars to help fund the American Chiropractic Association’s legal action taken against the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (formerly the Health Care Financing Administration). Every registration dollar collected from this Seminars in Support series will go to the Legal Action Fund/CMM Lawsuit.

The cost for each of the seminars is $169 for doctors and $60 for students/CAs (add $30 if registering less than five days prior to the event). Chiropractors will have the opportunity to earn 12 hours of license renewal credit (applied for by Parker College of Chiropractic) at the events.

Doctors can choose from three locations: Chicago (Sept. 15-16), Charlotte, NC (Oct. 13-14) and Baltimore (Nov. 3-4). Topics for these seminars include: the SOAP approach to administering spinal rehabilitation, the importance of proper documentation in a chiropractic rehabilitation setting, and how to use information to enhance patient care.

The lawsuit filed against CMM asserts that it is fraudulent for CMM to claim practitioners other than chiropractors can provide chiropractic spinal manipulations to correct a subluxation.

“We feel that this legal effort is so important that we have pledged to help in any way we can, including getting as many chiropractors as possible involved,” Foot Levelers president Kent Greenawalt said.

But that×s not the only way the company is helping chiropractors. Foot Levelers recently donated more than $140,000 from its Spring 2001 Seminar Series to chiropractic colleges and state associations. This puts the company on track for donating more than $250,000 to chiropractic colleges and associations by the end of the year.

Seminars in Support is being co-sponsored by the American Chiropractic Association, the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research and Parker College.
