ACA to Develop Chiropractic Wellness Model

Arlington, Va. - The American Chiropractic Association is working to develop a policy statement describing the appropriate role of the doctor of chiropractic and the chiropractic profession in regard to wellness and health promotion in the United States.

As part of the policy statement, a chiropractic wellness model will be developed and promoted as a preferred method of health care for the public.

Over the past several months, members of a Wellness Committee steering group have been following a scientific process to develop the wellness model's components, its impact from a scientific and practice management standpoint and where the unique aspects of chiropractic care fit into overall optimum health. The group has also been addressing the definitions of acute, chronic and supportive care.
