Parker offers chiropractic research grant opportunities

May 27, 2010 — Parker College of Chiropractic announces 2010 chiropractic research grant opportunities for researchers in private practice or associated with an academic institution. Multiple grants are available and each will provide up to $5,000 of financial aid in clinical research projects.

For the past two years, Parker has generated research funds for the profession in order to provide expanded grant programs and research opportunities. The Second Annual Parker Gala, which was held during Parker Seminars Las Vegas, is the funding source of the grants. The purpose is to advance the scientific knowledge of chiropractic and to thank

the profession for the support that has been given to Parker Seminars.

Those interested in applying for one of the grants are asked to send a letter of interest by July 1, 2010 including the title, description of project, a brief introduction including a methods section, research question that will be answered, and names of investigators. The initial letter should be concise and limited to 500 words or less.

All letters will be evaluated and up to five projects will be selected from the submissions. The selected authors will be notified by July 15, 2010 and asked to submit a formal research grant proposal by Sept. 1, 2010.

Of these five projects, three will be chosen and funded. The notice of funding will be made on Sept. 15, 2010. Projects must be completed within one year of funding and should be above the level of the single case report.

Please send letters of interest to Dr. Gilles A. Lamarche at 2540 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite S-212 Dallas, TX 75229.

For more information, please contact Dr. Gilles A. Lamarche, vice president of development and external relations at Parker College, at 214.902.3483 or glamarche@parkercc.edu.
