Ohio doctors raise $40,000 for statewide charities
November 19, 2008 — Nearly 100 DCs in Ohio participated in an unprecedented professional health service giveback, called Chiropractic Cares. The event, which lasted just two days, benefited four charitable community causes including, The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, The Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research, The Butch Reynolds Care for Kids Foundation, and the WellCare Foundation’s Rob Sherman Scholarship Fund.

As part of the chiropractic, community-centric fundraising effort, doctors throughout the state offered their expert services free of charge with a minimum, per patient charitable donation of just $20 to the WellCare Foundation, the OSCA’s non-profit organization, which directly supports other non-profit entities and community charitable causes throughout the state.
The event took place on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. The first date focused on current chiropractic patient visits throughout the state, while the second designated day reached out to new patients.
