Sherman faculty, alumni assume leadership roles
November 10, 2008 — The Federation of Straight Chiropractors and Organizations’ (FSCO) Board of Directors elected Bill Decken, DC, as chairman of the board, Shane Walker, DC, as president, and Kristen Denette, DC, as secretary at a recent annual board meeting.
Decken is an associate professor of clinical sciences and chair of the philosophy department at Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic. He is the founder and president of the Palmetto State Chiropractic Association (PSCA) and a past president of FSCO. He served on the South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners and was awarded Chiropractor of the Year by Sherman College, FSCO and PSCA in 1998. He has a family practice in Spartanburg, S.C.
Walker
Denette graduated from Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., with a degree in biology. She met her husband, Dan Denette, DC, at Stonehill and together they attended Sherman College. She graduated summa cum laude receiving awards for being the valedictorian and for her clinical excellence. She is very involved in her community and is a frequent guest lecturer at Stonehill College. She and Dan practice together in their home-office in Easton, Mass.
