Dr. Fallon extends hand to special needs children

August 5, 2008 — Joan Fallon, DC, FICCP, is living a dual existence this summer. From Monday through Friday she readies her company, Curemark, LLC, for clinical trials of a promising new enzyme replacement therapy for autism. On weekends, she combines her love of children and baseball as an umpire for the New Rochelle Challenger League. The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League Baseball to enable

boys and girls ages 5-18 with physical and mental disabilities to enjoy playing baseball.

“It is the highlight of my week.” Dr. Fallon says. “It’s such a wonderful thing to see the children participate in America’s game, and to do it in an environment where there is no judgment. The kids get a charge out of being called ‘safe’ when they reach their base. Everyone’s a winner.”
