Brian Laiderman, DC, MS, with the Sports Medicine team of Team USA and World Maccabiah Games three-time Gold Medalist Shelby HummelSeptember 13, 2013 — In January of this year, Optimal Performance Center (OPC) opened its doors in Chesterfield to treat grandparents and triathletes alike. Now, OPC owner, and graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic Brian Laiderman, DC, is bringing his expertise to Israel to support Team USA in the 19th World Maccabiah Games.

In 1932 the first Maccabiah Games opened in Israel with almost 400 athletes from 18 countries around the world. This quadrennial gathering of Jewish athletes began July 18 this year, with Team USA representing the largest visiting team the games have ever experienced.

“To be part of something so awesome is an honor,” Laiderman said. “Being able to put all my experience and training into honing such

incredible talent is really incredible to do and to see the results.”  More than 1,100 Jewish athletes from all over the country make up Team USA, covering every division from youth, juniors, open, masters, and paralympic.

“Dr. Laiderman brings such a diverse range of experience, both as an endurance athlete as well as a medical professional,” says Merrick Wetzler, USA medical chairman. “The medical team is crucial for everyone’s success and we’re excited to be able to add Dr. Laiderman’s unique skill set.”  Amidst a range of 34 sports that Team USA participates in, “Dr. Laiderman’s specialization in endurance athletes/sports medicine and internal health disorders gives Team USA the cutting edge.”
