Standard Process Inc. reaches out to future healthcare professionals

January 20, 2011— Standard Process Inc. believes education and prevention are key components to many health issues that plague the United States. In 2011, through its long-term education initiative, Standard Process provided $69,000 in scholarships to students from 11 different educational institutions.

The scholarships were given to further encourage students to study the vital role that whole food nutrition plays in achieving and maintaining health and wellness.

Also as part of its outreach efforts, Standard Process has welcomed more than 600 students from Logan College of Chiropractic, National University of Health Sciences, and Northwestern Health Sciences University since 2009. The company provides tours to the students so they can experience the manufacturing process from seed to supplement and observe how Standard Process strictly adheres to the Food and Drug Administration's good

manufacturing practices to ensure quality.

“Working with the schools enables us to directly share our message of optimal health and wellness,” says John Nab, D.C., director of professional development for Standard Process. “It’s important to have students learn the value of nutrition and advantages of whole food supplements while they’re in school, so they can start making a difference for their patients as soon as they begin practicing.”

Standard Process also partners with various schools to develop curricula based on the company’s whole food philosophy. New York Chiropractic College, for example, offers students advanced certification representing 165 hours of course work in whole food nutrition.

This year Standard Process will continue its outreach in an effort to build a foundation of nutritional knowledge before students enter real-world practices.
