Roger Brumback, M.D., has been named editor-in-chief of the recently launched Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine
JEBCAM is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed biomedical journal publishing hypothesis-driven and evidence-based articles concerning observations or studies in all fields of healing practices encompassed by complementary, alternative and integrative medicine.
Brumback, a professor of pathology and psychiatry and former chair of the Department of Pathology at Creighton University School of Medicine, is internationally known as a clinical neuroscientist and educator. He also serves as editor-in-chief of the highly regarded Journal of Child Neurology (JCN). Both JEBCAM and JCN are published by SAGE.
JEBCAM as an opportunity to provide sound, scientifically driven information on all forms of complementary, alternative and integrative therapies to health professionals in all disciplines,” Brumback said.
“Too often there is a public perception that science is at odds with complementary and alternative treatments. Nothing could be further from the truth: Science is not an entity, but rather science is a method to study the why and how and to explain the workings of nature. JEBCAM will strive to provide information about the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of complementary, alternative, and integrative medicine by publishing hypothesis-driven reports.”
Brumback, a graduate of Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Penn., is trained as a pediatrician, neurologist and pathologist.
