The right skills

To be a successful sports DC, you must build upon your strengths as a skilled chiropractor.

• Enroll in the CCSP and diplomate program. This is an essential beginning step.

• Get a mentor. Associate yourself with a doctor who has the skills and knowledge that make him or her an excellent sports DC. Emulate the qualities you admire. Learn all you can from your mentor.

• Set your practice apart. Become the “five star restaurant” of chiropractic in your community.

Make sure you’re more knowledgeable about sports than other doctors in your community, and offer the best service in the area. Learn all you can about nutrition, exercise, rehab, chiropractic philosophy, and practice. Keep current. There’s always something new to learn.

Give your patients an attractive office where comfort and service are your hallmarks. Keep the focus on technology and knowledge, where patient education, modern equipment, and a skilled, service-oriented professional staff all complement each other.

Act as a source of sports and sports injury information for the community. Get your name known by local teams, schools, and corporations. Participate in health fairs and provide your services for sports competitions.
