Parker Seminars aims to make leadership contagious

If Fabrizio Mancini, DC, president of Parker College and the Parker Seminars, has anything to do about it, a Las Vegas tradition — “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”— will be broken.

Mancini would like to see the 6,000+ attendees of the 2006 Las Vegas Parker Seminars take the theme of the event — leadership — and spread it throughout the chiropractic community, once the seminar closes its doors on Saturday evening, Jan. 14.

“Parker Seminars has been on the forefront of leadership training since its inception by Dr. James Parker more than 50 years ago,” said Mancini. “Today, Parker Seminars continues that legacy of training leaders who engage the hearts and minds of those they serve and empower. This is contagious leadership.”

In the spirit of developing contagious leadership, the annual event has scheduled a number of keynote speakers who are renowned for their leadership development and their motivational messages:

• Wayne Dyer, PhD, kicks off the keynote addresses on Wednesday evening, Jan. 11. Dyer is perhaps best known for his best-selling book, Your Erroneous Zones, but he is also the other of any other self-help classics, including Meditations for Manifesting, Staying on the Path, Your Sacred Self, and You’ll See It When You Believe It.

Dyer will speak on “Inspiration: Your Ultimate Calling” at the pre-conference kickoff Wednesday evening.

• Les Brown is the keynote motivational speaker on Thursday at 7 p.m. Author of Live Your Dreams and It’s Not Over Until You Win, Brown is the fomer host of The Les Brown Show, a syndicated daily television talk show that aimed at finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems.

Brown is scheduled to inspire the audience on looking for “an active force in our own lives.” His message: “We must take charge of our own destinies, design a life of substance, and truly begin to live our dream.”

• Chérie Carter-Scott, PhD, is the featured speaker Saturday afternoon. Author of If Life is a Game, These Are the Rules, which is used as a textbook in 100 universities and colleges throughout the United States, she will focus on telling the audience about her universal template for living life to the fullest.

In addition to the keynote speakers, the Parker Seminars will highlight respected seminar presenters throughout the three days. Registrants will be able to earn up to 18 continuing education credits for license renewal, pending state board approval. All CE credits are provided through Parker College of Chiropractic.

Sessions throughout the event are scheduled around tracks: CA training, practice building, chiropractic philosophy and personal development, license renewal, and Parker Principles.

To take a break from learning, participants can wander through the 200-booth Expo area, which features every type of product a growing practice may need.

Capping off the three-day event will be an evening of entertainment and dancing, following the close of the seminar.
