Going to the next level
Here are some proven success concepts that will take you and your practice to the next level, both professionally and personally:
• Manage your state of mind. Everyone emits energy, which can either attract or repel others.
Two things that determine your energy are your focus and your physiology. If you choose to focus on the negativity of the world around you, the energy you give off will be negative.
Train yourself to focus on positive events and let them come out through the way you walk, gesture and show facial expressions.
• Systemize. You cannot attract more patients into your practice if you are overwhelmed and too busy. The only way you can make sure your patients are having a good experience in your office is to make sure everyone on the staff is well trained and carries out their respective responsibilities professionally and efficiently.
Good experiences do not happen by accident; they are planned for and practiced.
• Organize. If your staff and your office are disorganized, stress, frustration and negativity will result. Your patients will not get a good feeling when entering into an atmosphere that is disorganized, messy and stressful.
• Simplify. When you and your staff are overburdened with work-intensive procedures and paperwork, the focus will be on completing paperwork and not your patients. When the focus is on anything other than the patients, the practice will not attract more patients. Find ways to make procedures and paperwork more efficient.
Once you systemize, organize and simplify your practice, the result will be a more energized team who will be more excited and enthusiastic about practice growth. Additionally, you will be attracting more patients. Remember, success comes from you, not to you.
• Unite in beliefs. You and every staff member must have an unquestioned belief of chiropractic philosophy, treatment protocols and the value of chiropractic care. Remember the quote: “It’s not what you say, but what you believe about what you say that will give what you say power!”
• Educate. Every staff member is responsible to educate patients and must be prepared to answer commonly asked questions. Patients tend to ask the staff questions instead of the chiropractor. Each staff member must be empowered to answer questions confidently and from a solid basis of understanding.
• Focus. Whatever you focus on is what you will be attracting, so be sure you are focusing on success, not failure. Make sure every staff member knows your vision for your practice. Set goals and develop action plans to achieve them and to keep your staff focused.
“Some people dream of success while others wake up and work for it.” Success is a never-ending process. No matter how good you are, you can always be better. Fire up your passion for excellence and pass it along to your staff. Great practices are made one step at a time.
