1995
— The chiropractic profession celebrated its
centennial with various festivities held around the
world.
Copenhagen
hosted the Interscandinavian Chiropractic Centennial
meeting which drew participants from Britain, Canada,
Denmark, France, Norway, Sweden, the United States
and elsewhere.
The
Canadian Chiropractic Association held a gala convention
in Toronto.

In
the United States the Chiropractic Centennial Foundation
(CCF) hosted two celebrations: the first in the summer
of 1995 in Washington, DC and the second in September
in Davenport, Iowa. More than 5,000 participants from
at least 16 nations converged on the Iowa river city
for the grand finale.
The
CCF, in conjunction with the Association for the History
of Chiropractic (AHC), invited special presentations
on early chiropractic pioneers by Pierre-Louis Gaucher-Peslherbe,
DC, PhD, W. Heath Quigley, DC, MA, and Virgil V. Strang,
DC; their papers were subsequently published in a
special issue of the AHC’s journal, Chiropractic
History.
