1909 — The Meric system is developed by B.
J. Palmer, DC, and James C. Wishart, DC, and includes
dividing the body into zones and vertemeres.
The Meric theory of subluxation presumes a relationship
between dysfunctions at particular spinal joints and
specific diseases of particular organs. In this system,
the doctor determines which organ is diseased by locating
the subluxated vertebrae that correspond to the area
of the disease.
